Brandi Carlile Shares Cover Of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’

Brandi Carlile has shared a cover of John Denver‘s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

Carlile’s version of the classic features in a trailer for “Clarice,” an upcoming sequel series to Silence Of The Lambs, which was first aired during the Super Bowl.

The series will star actress Rebecca Breeds as FBI Agent Clarice Starling. Set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, the series tells the untold story of Clarice, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators.

Denver co-wrote “Take Me Home, Country Roads” with Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. It was released as a single by Denver on April 12, 1971, peaking at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
The singer-songwriter included the song on his 1971 album, Poems, Prayers And Promises,

This is the second time Carlile has covered the song. Previously, she covered “Take Me Home” in 2013 with Emmylou Harris.
