Andi Peters left GMB viewers shocked as he admitted it was his 50th birthday today. Andi first hit our screens in the 1980s and has since become a well-known face on our TV’s but what is known of his life away from our screens?

Is Andi Peters married?

Andi is seen to have kept his private life out of the spotlight during his career.

The presenter’s relationship status is currently unknown and is unlikely to be known as the Andi has not spoken out on any relationships publically.

Who is Andi Peters?

Andi first hit our screens in 1989 on the BBC children’s show Broom Cupboard.

Talking about his time on the show to the Telegraph in 2015, Andi spoke of how he was the only person in the studio while filming.

He explained: “There’d be one trail, they’d stand up, I’d sit down, plug in, switch the camera on and go, ‘Good afternoon, Welcome to Children’s BBC.’

“There was no production team – it was just me and Edd [the Duck].”

Andi went on to say how he spent some of his best years on the show.

Andi added: “You say inanimate – he had a personality. Sorry, he has a personality – Edd hasn’t died.

“And genuinely, he would ‘say’ things, and I would know what he had just said to me.

“It’s honestly some of the best years of my television life I spent in that Broom Cupboard. We used to just laugh a lot, Edd and I.”

Since his Broom Cupboard days, Andi has gone on to become a regular on our screens.

Andi appeared on Celebrity Masterchef in 2008 where he finished as runner up.

He has also presented on popular shows including The Big Reunion and Ejector Seat.

More recently, Andi has taken to presenting alongside Christine Lampard on Lorraine as Lorraine Kelly takes a break from the show.

Announcing he will be presenting on Lorraine on Good Morning Britain Andi said: “I love Lorraine.

“I’ve known her for ten years, I’m on her show every day with competitions, and it’s great to be part of that family.

“So, sitting in for her is an honour, Lorraine is an institution.”
