AJ Pritchard’s grandfather says his late wife was proud of Strictly star as he competes on I’m A Celeb

After she sadly passed away, AJ Pritchard's grandfather Leslie had paid a heartwarming tribute to his late wife Angela.

The I'm A Celebrity star's grandmother died at the age of 93, with AJ, who tested positive for coronavirus days before the launch, unaware of her passing as he competes on I'm A Celeb.

Now Leslie has gushed over how proud his wife was of AJ, as well as his brother Curtis Pritchard and all her other grandchildren.

"It is with great sadness that my beautiful wife Angela has passed away. She was the love of my life.

"One of her greatest pleasures right until the end of her life was seeing AJ and Curtis as well as her other grandchildren flourish in their careers, and she made it clear she would hate for them to give up their dreams," he shared.

Curtis, 24, broke the news of his nan's passing on Monday, and shared a lengthy post about how much she meant to him.

Alongside a picture of himself with her, the Love Island star wrote: "Life is beautiful, life is incredible, life is magical… But sadly it doesn't last forever. RIP, I love your Nanna. (sic)

"Nanna words literally cannot describe how much I love you, and forever will love you and memories of you.

"You really have been a massive part of my life and helped me be the man I am today," he explained.

Curtis is currently taking part on Celebs Go Dating, while AJ is on I'm A Celebrity, and he revealed that it's his grandad's wish for them to carry on with their work and not drop out.

"It is following our Grandads wishes that myself and AJ are to carry on with the current projects we are committed too. [sic]

"Grandad said to myself and AJ that it would break his heart for us to stop what we were doing as Nanna had such pride in our work.

The dancer, who recently broke his silence about ex Maura's relationship with Chris Taylor, went on to share that AJ, 26, discussed with the family before he went into the castle, that if anything was to happen to their nan, he would be told after he left.

"As Grandad and Nanna would have wished for, AJ will stay in the castle and continue making her proud wherever she is watching from."
