Watch These Bodybuilders Attempt Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Toughest Movie Workouts

YouTube’s Buff Dudes, aka bodybuilders Brandon and Hudson White, have made it their mission to take on the grueling workouts of some of your favorite action movie actors.

They’ve previously taken on Jackie Chan’s movie workouts, Michael B. Jordan’s Creed workouts, The Rock’s Black Adam workout, and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder workout. And in their latest YouTube video, they’re taking on the training workouts of one of the action movie greats: Jean-Claude Van Damme.

“This guy, he was different,” Brandon says as the video begins. “He had something that no one else had…the splits!” Likewise, the guys—along with their father, Duke—took on some of JCVD’s best training montages, and attempted to see if they can do his infamous splits.

The workouts and movements include:

Behind the Neck Pulls (from Double Team)
Hudson is up first, and hits the bar to see how many neck pulls he can do in a row. He does an impressive 13 reps, followed by Duke. They note that JCVD is 60 years old, and Duke is nearly 4 years older. On his attempt, he knocks out 7 reps. And finally, Brandon takes his shot, and does 10 reps.

“I think I did some Van-damage to my shoulders on that one,” says Brandon. “They usually don’t tell you to do behind-the-neck stuff…a little bit more dangerous than the typical pull-up, but that’s what Van Damme is all about.”

Spring Fist Pushups (from In Hell)
These closed-fist pushups require you to spring up after every rep, and also require your legs to be elevated. Using a stack of tires and a dirt floor, the guys get to it, with Hudson up first, and hits 10 reps. “That did hurt….I’m gonna say Van-Damn-It,” says Hudson.

Next up is Duke, who rips off his shirt for his an amazing 12 reps. Brandon takes his shot, an reps out 15 pushups.

Dance Break (from Kickboxer)
The guys took a break to emulate some of JCVD’s iconic dance moves that he did in his movies.

“He not only did the splits, he did some badass dancing choreography,” says Brandon. “A lot of hip movement in there.”

And so the guys attempt to do their best dance moves montage, with Duke showing off his moves first. He dips it and swivels for four minutes, totally out of breath in a side-by-side frame with JCVD. But when it comes to Hudson and Brandon’s turns, they back out.

“This was actually a practical joke…we’re not gonna do that shit,” laughs Brandon.

Tea Party (from Blood Sport)
“Our training is almost done, but it wouldn’t be complete without the tea scene,” says Hudson, who is holding a teapot on a tray. “I must appease my sensei and his wife, who also happens to be my mom, by pouring them tea while blindfolded. I cannot see, and I hope to do the best job that I can. Wish me luck.”

Both Hudson and Brandon make the attempt, and pour successfully…with Brandon also pouring the water purposefully on his dad Duke’s head and lap. Duke does the iconic chop motion to both guys.

The Splits (from every Van Damme movie ever)
The guys use a machine to see how far each on can do a center split. Brandon attempts first, and is able to get his legs spread out to 5 feet (60″). Hudson is next and beats his brother by an inch, measuring at 61″. “Where’s the ice?!” says Hudson after his attempt.

Finally, Duke is up, and can only make it to 55″.

That concludes the training session, and all the guys agree that they feel like they’ve been put through the ringer.

“We’re all a little Van-Damaged, but we’ve had a lot of fun,” says Brandon. “But thank you Van Damme for entertaining us throughout the years.”
