Sure introduces world's first inclusive deodorant for people with disabilities

Sure has developed the world’s first inclusive deodorant for people with visual impairments and upper limb motor disabilities.

More than one in five Brits have a disability, yet many products are not designed with these individuals in mind.

And no deodorant product has ever been specifically created for people with upper limb disabilities to use.

Sure Inclusive has been driven by a mission to make the deodorant application process accessible to everyone.

It is the world’s first adaptive deodorant with features making it easier to open and use.

Some of these features include a hooked design for one-handed usage and magnetic closures that make it easier to take the cap off and put it back on for users with visual impairments or who have limited grip.

In addition, there is a larger roll-on applicator and a braille label.

Sure worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Open Style Lab and The Lighthouse Chicago to ensure the product was up to standard for users.

The brand also invited 200 people with disabilities in the U.S. to trial the prototype design and share their thoughts about the concept, functionality and brand messaging.

‘As a brand that’s committed to inspiring confidence in everyone to move more, Sure believes no one should be held back from experiencing the transformative benefits of movement,’ said Kathryn Swallow, Global Sure Brand Vice President.

‘More than 1 billion people are estimated to live with some form of disability, yet products and experiences are still not designed with this community in mind. With Sure Inclusive we hope to inspire bold action across the industry to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal playing field.’

Sure Inclusive is expected to launch in the UK this August.
