Kate Hudson just celebrated her 42nd birthday, and now she’s getting a head start on Mother’s Day. The mom of three kicked it off with an adorable photo with her youngest, Rani Rose.

The mother-daughter pair are twinning in red swimwear. Kate wears a bright red bikini, and Rani dons a patterned one-piece. Kate captioned the photo: “Like mother like daughter… 👙 Celebrate mom with us this year! @tobeinbloom❤️” (FYI InBloom is Kate’s nutritional supplement business venture.)

Not to be ignored in all the cuteness are Kate’s seriously sculpted abs. There may be some retouching here and there on the photo, but the star’s fit physique is real and comes from years of hard work and healthy habits.

Kate has worked with trainer Nicole Stuart for more than 20 years and stocked her home gym with a wide variety of fitness equipment. She squeezes in three or four workouts a week and constantly switches up her routine. Her sweat sesh could include a virtual at-home workout using The Mirror and her Peloton. “I have the Peloton Tread, I just got it, and I love Peloton,” Kate previously told Women’s Health. “I think they make it so easy to have ‘no excuse’ workouts. [I can spend] 10 minutes doing a little mile run instead of just sitting there doing nothing.”

And she also does a LOT of Pilates. Her trainer told Parade, “For my sessions with Kate, I focused on attuning to her body and abs, as mothers go through ab separation post-pregnancy. The most important goal for the sessions was to allow her to move to music and feel her body and muscles.”

As for keeping her diet on track, Kate follows an intermittent fasting plan as well as WW. Around 11:00 or 11:30 a.m., she’ll break her fast and start eating. “I make beautiful meals that have no points, then I can indulge,” she says. “I’ll do a whole day eating amazing ZeroPoint foods [like chicken and leafy greens], then I have wine and ice cream.”
