First pictures of two Brits killed while taking photo on 40ft cliff in Spain

Two British men have died after falling off a Spanish cliff top while their friend was taking a picture of them, according to reports.

Daniel Vivian Mee, 25, and Jayden Dolman, 20, were on Spain’s Costa Blanca coast in an area known as Punta Prima, near the town of Torrevieja, when the accident happened at around 7.30pm yesterday.

Mr Mee was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr Dolman died in hospital today.

One of the men was said to have landed on a hut used by lifeguards.

A third man who was taken to hospital after suffering a panic attack has been named as Lewis Higgins, 24.

Police are working on the theory that Mr Higgins was taking the snap of his two friends when they fell.

All three men are understood to come from Bridgwater in Somerset.

An FCO spokesman said: ‘We are supporting the families of two British men following their deaths in Alicante, and are in contact with the Spanish authorities.

‘Another British man was involved in the accident, and we are also providing assistance.’

A Civil Guard source added: ‘It appears the men were taking a photo. The initial reports were that they had fallen from a height of around 40 feet.

‘It is too early at this stage to speculate on exactly what happened and the police investigation into the cause is still in its infancy.’
