Easter eggs and festive chocolate have begun popping up on supermarket shelves across the country – much to the delight and dismay of Australians.

A Reddit user took to the online forum to share a picture of a supermarket shelf stacked with Easter chocolates, along with the caption ‘Now the Easter eggs are trickling out too…’.

The picture shows three shelves stacked with Easter eggs, just one week after hot cross buns were first spotted at supermarkets on Boxing Day.

The availability of the chocolate treats more than 100 days away from Easter sparked mixed reactions from shoppers.

‘If the availability of such seasonal products causes offense, do not buy these products,’ one user wrote.

‘Easter Chocolate. Maximum profit for minimal product,’ another added.

One user even tried to one-up the poster.

‘Local woolies (Woolworths) has had a shelf dedicated to eggs since boxing day..’ they said.

While another user saw no issue at all.
