The outspoken star, who has made it through to the semi-final of Dancing On Ice 2019, has been keeping TV fans entertained since he burst on to prime time screens in 2006 – complete with sequins. Here is the lowdown.

Why did James Jordan quit Strictly?

James left Strictly in 2014 after eight years on the show.

At the time, a Strictly spokesperson said: "James Jordan was offered a role still on [Strictly Come Dancing].

"It wasn’t to be partnered with a celebrity, but it was to be involved in specials such as Children in Need, that sort of thing.

"But he declined that. He was offered a reduced role on the show."

Since then, James has been pretty vocal about how his relationship with the show came to an end. Following the Beeb's announcement, he tweeted: "Yes, it's true I WILL NOT be retuning to 'BURN THE FLOOR'…. Sorry, I mean 'Strictly Come Dancing'"

He added: "….do not believe everything the BBC have written in their statement."

Why did James Jordan fall out with Craig Revel Horwood?

In 2011, James was partnered with The One Show host Alex Jones.

Following one performance, Craig was highly critical of Alex's dancing abilities, which did not sit well with James, prompting a row to break out.

The series was set to reunite Jason and Karen Barber seven years after their heated on-air row after former Olympic skater Karen has landed the role of head coach.

James and Ola met at a dance competition in Blackpool in 1999 but James already had a girlfriend.

A few months later, James flew to her native Poland in an attempt to get her to be his dance partner.

A few hours later she agreed to come to England to train with him and moved to Kent.

A couple of years later, he broke up with his girlfriend and he and Ola became an item. They married in 2003 and lived in Hong Kong for four years teaching dance.

In 2009, James and Ola took part in a celebrity version of the BBC game show Total Wipeout.

James is also a regular panellist on Channel 5 talk show The Wright Stuff.

James was born in April 13, 1978 in Gillingham, Kent, to parents Sharon and Andrew, who used to teach at the famous Peggy Spencer’s Dance School in Penge. James has a sister called Kelly.

He was educated at the St John Fisher Catholic School in Chatham.

James is a keen sportsman and likes golf, tennis, pool, squash and riding his motorbike.

The twinkle-toed performer began dancing at the age of 13 but admits he was pushed into it by his parents and his sister, who used to dance a child but stopped as she got older.

He said he only went along for a laugh but soon developed a passion for it and his teachers, seeing his potential, would enter him in competitions.

By the age of 18, he knew this was his career path and started working with his father to earn money to fund his classes.

James joined the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2006 and was partnered with actress Georgina Bouzova and they were the fourth couple to be eliminated.
