Pics: Harry Shum Jr. Turns Into Craftsman Before 2019 SAG Awards

AceShowbiz -As an ambassador for the 25th Anniversary Screen Actors Guild Awards, Harry Shum Jr. experienced it firsthand the making process of the Actor Statuettes. The actor took part in the ceremony which took place at Burbank, California’s American Fine Arts Foundry on Tuesday, January 15.

Clad in a khaki polo shirt with dark slacks and brown dress shoes, he turned into a craftsman for a day. He wore protective goggles and gloves before helping create some of the bronze statues. He looked serious as he hammered away the molds for the statues, which will be handed out at the award show.

The “Shadowhunters” star took to Twitter to share his experience that morning. “Instead of caffeine, I like to start my mornings by breaking some molding apart for the @sagawards ‘Actor.’,” he jokingly wrote on his post. “Really neat to be included in the process of creating the iconic 12 pound bronze statuette. Never been so close to 2000 degrees of hot molten bronze before. #sagawards.”

Harry was also joined by fellow actors Elizabeth McLaughlin and Daryl Anderson at the ceremony.

Harry and his “Crazy Rich Asians” co-stars are up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the 2019 SAG Awards.
