Fear the Walking Dead season 5 spoilers: Morgan faced with ‘big questions’ in new episodes

Fear the Walking Dead is returning to AMC next week, and will return to the show’s characters fighting to survive.

However season five will see Morgan (played by Lennie James) and his company fighting for a new cause: saving people.

With a brand new outlook on life, Morgan is hoping to pave some sort of path for the future of civilisation.

But a brand new video posted by The Walking Dead’s Twitter account teases a rough time ahead for the characters.

Showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg told viewers the characters “have a lot to get over” after season four’s cliffhanger.

Andrew explained: “They can’t just look outward anymore. They also have to look inward.”

And on the journey the crew are about to embark upon, Andrew later added: “We’re going to encounter some very strange road blocks [in the season].

“And the big questions we’re going to be faced with is: what lies beyond them?

“And is this a landscape our characters really want to adventure into?”

The bosses also teased new characters arriving in the early episodes, including The Walking Dead’s Dwight (Austin Amelio).

Andrew went on: “We’re very excited to be bringing over another character from The Walking Dead and that character is Dwight.”

Although obviously excited by the character’s arrival on his show, he wasn’t going to reveal anything upcoming for the former bad-guy.

He added: “Daryl [Norman Reedus] told him to find Sherry [Christine Evangelista] and we’re going to see how that’s going.”

Ian also teased the return of Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades), and his ongoing feud with Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).

“We also have Daniel Salazar returning,” Ian said.

“We haven’t seen him since the end of season three when the dam exploded.”

Chiming in on what fans will see, Salazar actor Ruben confessed: “Salazar trusts people as far as he can spit. And with strand he can’t spit that far.”

However the showrunners recently explained the Salazar conflict may not go as viewers expect, revealing: “Strand has been seeking his own redemption, and I think the thing that will happen when Daniel Salazar enters the story is it’s going to make both men question who they are.

“Whether they can overcome their past, and really test whether Strand has become a new man.”

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on June 2 and AMC UK the following day.
