'90210' Reboot Will Include These Two Iconic Features From Original 'Beverly Hills, 90210'

Back in its heyday, Beverly Hills, 90210 was one of the hottest shows on the air…literally and metaphorically, as the eye-candy and the ratings were parallel triumphs. Featuring scintillating and steamy plotlines — often coupled with more severe issues akin to adolescence — Beverly Hills, 90210 defined the 90s TV sphere, alongside shows like Melrose Place and Friends.

Now, Beverly Hills 90210 will receive the reboot it deserves. Rather than presenting fresh faces via the CW, the original cast is back, and ready to don their familiar Beverly Hills counterparts once more. Titled BH90210, the reboot will present the original cast as “heightened versions of themselves,” which Tori Spelling explained to Entertainment Weekly. If you’re wondering exactly what this implies, understand that the new 90210 will not align with most reboots.

Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling explain how ‘BH90210’ is going to work

BH90210 will operate as a show within a show. The narrative will focus on the people behind the characters, coming together once more for a reboot. Garth stated:

“The premise of this show, it’s about the characters behind the characters. It’s inside the lives of people that lived in those shoes for those 10 years, and it’s about them coming back together. It’s really hard to do that show justice in a reboot, so we didn’t want to even try. We wanted to come at it with a totally different, fresh perspective, while still honoring the show and paying homage to all the characters that the fans are going to really love.”

Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth stated that the series will focus on the “show within a show” aspect moreso down the line, which is where you will see the actors portray the characters you know and love. However, this time around, you will also see who these characters are behind the scenes (with a little dramatization added in for television purposes).  So, with the show set to be quite different from its predecessor, will any of the original features remain intact?

What will be incorporated from the original ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’?

If you’re hoping for some of the original pieces to find their way into the new show, you’re in luck. Jennie Garth revealed that fans will be seeing the Peach Pit. Garth stated:

“We’re working on a location right now for our new version of the Peach Pit. You’ll be seeing the Peach Pit.”

Tori Spelling jumped in, noting that die-hard fans will get their moments of nostalgia. Fans of the original will be satisfied with the reboot, for it will present a contemporary spin while remaining true to its roots. Spelling stated:

“There’s definitely going to be for the die-hard fans, there’s going to be moments where they’ll get to see us play Kelly and Donna and all the other characters.”

Tori Spelling also goes on to reveal that the ORIGINAL THEME song will be used for the reboot. As soon as you hear that tune again, you’re destined to feel the chills race down your spine, as a surge of memories surrounding your favorite characters come rushing back.
