GOODWOOD

5.55

GRANDSCAPE has a handy low draw and comes here with some good turf form in the book. He wasn’t at his best at Chelmsford last time but went close at Doncaster over a similar trip earlier and looks on a fair mark.

Balmoral Castle isn’t so lucky with stall 12 but has been knocking on the door with a couple of seconds at Windsor.

A repeat of that gives him a chance, while French Mix has won her last two on the all-weather and is likely to make a bold bid from the front.

6.30

GOBI SUNSET is the pick of those with racecourse experience and can make it third time lucky for Mark Johnston. He was a good fourth at Wolverhampton last time over this trip and can make the most of his experience.

Desert Palms and Guildsman are both very nicely bred and worth a market check ahead of this debut.

7.05

ATALANTA’S BOY likes it here as he proved when winning over course and distance last time out, ahead of Spanish Star who looks the main threat again today. They both have a fair draw and meet again on the same terms at the weights.

Lethal Angel has gone well on her two turf runs this season with a third at Donny followed by a good second at Newmarket last time out. She looks dangerous.

7.35

PUDS was the victim of a typical Goodwood scrum when still managing to finish a good second here last time out. She had to sit and suffer and the line came too soon once she got a run.

That was a good effort after winning here over 5f and she’s just 4lb higher here with every chance.

Second Collection transferred his strong all-weather form to turf when winning at Windsor last time out. She’s up a fair 6lb with more to offer.

8.10

BERRAHRI could be the answer to this wide open contest. He was a close third at Chester last time after going close when second here last month. He’s handicapped for another good run over a suitable trip.

Kirkland Forever won well at Windsor on comeback and followed up from this mark with a good second at Chepstow last time. She gets on well with today’s claiming rider and won’t be far away.

8.40

CLARION showed lots of promise when a close-up fourth in a decent maiden at Newmarket last time. That was her debut and she was understandably green so should have a lot more to offer, especially over this longer distance.

Fabulist was an odds-on flop at Newbury last time when maybe not seeing out 1m2f. This drop back in distance could well do the trick. Be More improved on her two-year-old form when second on comeback at Wetherby last time and has more to offer.
