Pochettino leaving Spurs a massive gamble as Man Utd are unrecognisable, says Peter Crouch

The Spurs chief, 46, has been linked with the Manchester United job in the summer, while Real Madrid are also considering a move.

But ex-Tottenham striker Crouch believes Poch is best suited where he is, with United a mere shell of the world-beaters of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Crouch told the Mail: "If Pochettino was to leave Tottenham, he would be taking a huge gamble.

“Is it an attractive proposition to go to Old Trafford now and leave everything he’s got behind?

“I look at United now and see a club that is unrecognisable from the one I used to play against.

“He has a lot of what he could want at Tottenham.

“Top players with whom he has a special bond, the unrelenting support of the fans and the prospect of a fantastic new stadium.

“This could be the start of a special time for Tottenham.”

Meanwhile, Pochettino himself believes Spurs are on the brink of something special – and reckons silverware is just around the corner.

Poch claimed: “We are going to have one of the best facilities in the world, the training ground with the new stadium.

“On the football side, all that we are building here will be in the same level.

“When you add and mix it all together it is going to be the time to win titles and deliver what the people expect.”
