They later deleted the tweet that read: ‘Apologies, we’re aware of the problem regarding the recent Mastercard Competition.

Customers at Zavvi have been incorrectly told they won Champions League final tickets

An email went out to every participant of their competition on Thursday

Zavvi tweeted an apology but later deleted it as fans expressed their unhappiness

‘We seem to have had some technical issues and we’re currently looking into this.’

Sportsmail has contacted Zavvi for further comment and they are yet to reply but plenty of customers responded to their tweet to let them know of their dismay.

The ‘winning’ email said that two tickets to the final, two nights at a four-star hotel with flight, transfers, travel and a £250 prepaid card had been won by each participant had been won.

‘I feel like someone just took my favourite childhood teddy bear and chucked it in a blender,’ one user wrote.

Another said: ‘I hope you’re going to do right by those who have received the email.

The error left a lot of customers with Zavvi feeling extremely disappointed

‘Obviously not expecting you to honour trips for all but a Zavvi gift card should be the minimum.’

Tottenham qualified for the Champions League final on Wednesday night by beating Ajax 3-2 in Amsterdam.

The day before, Liverpool thrashed Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to qualify for the June 1 match in Madrid.
