Best horse racing tips for today's action at Beverley, Perth, Warwick, Kempton and Chelmsford from Tom Bull

THE imminent return of Sandown's Bet365 card means that the Flat is well and truly beginning to take centre stage.

With that in mind, I've found a few cracking wagers to get your teeth stuck into on Thursday.

Beverley

3.20 Nefarious – This is a tasty little contest and one that can go to Henry Candy's progressive colt.

He stepped up on his maiden form when winning on handicap debut at Wolves last time and should have more to come on just four starts.

Provided he copes with the switch to turf then he should be too good here and can make the trip up north worthwhile for connections.

Perth

3.00 Las Tunas – Rather amazingly, this will be the seven-year-old's first run over hurdles in Britain – and he looks extremely well-handicapped.

Having won his last two chases in effortless fashion, connections clearly believe he's capable of striking over the smaller obstacles off a 9lb lower mark.

He was a winner over hurdles when trained in France and can chalk up the hat-trick here.

Warwick

2.35 Coopers Square – Usually I'd be against tipping a horse that's gone up so far in the handicap, but his winning run shows no sign of coming to an end.

He's been raised another 6lb for scoring at Exeter last time and although that's not going to help him, this is actually a very weak contest despite the big field.

Tom Weston has done a fantastic job with his top-weight and I reckon they can squeak one more win out of him.

Kempton

4.40 So Lonely – The Skeltons have found a very nice young jock in William Marshall, and he's superb value for his 8lb claim.

His mount won at Huntingdon last time in fine style and carries a 7lb penalty, so effectively he's running off 1lb lower.

That makes the five-year-old the one to beat and she should increase the stable's remarkable tally.

Chelmsford

7.00 Hey Jonesy – A valuable card at the Essex track tonight and this can go the way of Kevin Ryan's speedster, who should be tough to catch if adopting normal front-running tactics.

He's only 2lb shy of the highest-rated and, having had a wind op since last seen, could find that little bit of improvement.

Chelmsford suits horses that make all and he could have too much gas from a decent draw.
