Kit Harington Almost Lost a Testicle Filming ‘Game of Thrones’ and the Story Is Horrifying

Game of Thrones premiered last night, and the internet is entirely not over it. Thankfully, HBO just dropped a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the first episode, and in it, Kit Harington tells a truly wild story about almost losing a testicle.

Spoilers for GoT S8:EP1 below. Proceed with caution. Seriously, I mean it.

In one of the first scenes of last night’s episode, Kit’s character Jon Snow has to ride one of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons. To create this scene, Kit essentially had to ride a mechanical-bull-like structure so that the CGI team could do its magic. Emilia Clarke has been doing this for years, but it was Kit’s first attempt, and it almost went terribly south.

“Buck work is not easy. I think what sums up the buck for me was there was a bit where Jon almost falls off,” he said. “The dragon swings around really violently, like this, and my right ball got trapped, and I didn’t have time to say ‘Stop!’ And I was being swung around.”

“In my head, I thought, ‘This is how it ends, on this buck, swinging me around by testicles, literally. Sorry. Probably too much information.”

First things first, this is definitely not too much information. Second, this is hilarious and so potentially tragic that it’s literally too hard to read with a straight face. He almost lost a ball! Insane. Truly insane.
