Blake Lively goes make-up free as she steps out in dressing gown-style coat

We’re used to seeing Blake Lively glammed up to the nines on the red carpet.

So it was quite a surprise to see the actress stepping out make-up free as she ran errands in New York state on Wednesday.

The Gossip Girl star, 31, was a far cry from her usual immaculate style as she did a spot of food shopping following the Christmas period.

The mother-of-two was bundled up in a fluffy brown ‘teddy bear’ coat, which looked more like a dressing gown than outerwear.

She completed her cosy ensemble with a brown turtleneck, black leggings and winter boots as she headed back to her car.

Blake spent the Christmas period with her family at her $2.35 million estate in Pound Ridge – a countryside town in New York’s Westchester County, just an hour’s drive outside Manhattan.

Blake wed Ryan Reynolds – 11 years her senior – in September 2012 after a whirlwind one year romance.

It didn’t take long before Blake was pregnant with their daughter James, who was born in December 2014. Second daughter Inez followed in September 2016.

Speaking about their family recently, husband Ryan enthused: "It’s kind of made me a better person, I think. I sort of miss being horrible.

"It’s hard. It’s always a challenge, with two kids. But it’s a dream. They’re the best. They’re my buddies. I love it."

It’s the first marriage for Blake, although Ryan was married to Scarlett Johansson for two years, before splitting in December 2010 and divorcing in July 2011. He was also engaged to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette.

This year, Blake has been focusing on motherhood and acting after her brief sojourn into lifestyle e-commerce failed.

She closed her website Preserve in 2015 after just a year when it failed to achieve the same success as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop and Jessica Alba’s Honest Company.

Describing why she closed Preserve, she said: "We have an incredible team of people who do beautiful work, but we launched the site before it was ready, and it never caught up to its original mission: It’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way."
