Winter storm to hit Guelph area, Waterloo region on Tuesday: Environment Canada
Environment Canada says a winter storm is expected to hit the Guelph area and Waterloo region on Tuesday.
Ten to 15 centimetres of snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and strong winds are all in in the forecast.
The snow will begin overnight followed by ice pellets, then freezing rain in the afternoon, and finally another round of snow in the evening, according to Environment Canada.
The agency said winds gusting up to 80 km/h will cause blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Environment Canada said the weather is associated with a “Colorado Low” that will cross southern Ontario.
A special weather statement was issued but officials said watches and warnings may be required as the system draws closer.
