Who was Lee Radziwill, sister of Jackie Kennedy and American socialite?
But who was she? Here's everything you need to know.
When was Lee Radziwill born and who were her family?
Caroline Lee Bouvier was born on March 3 1933 in New York City.
Her father was Wall Street stockbroker John Vernou 'Black Jack' Bouvier III and her mother was socialite Janet Lee Bouvier.
She was four years younger than her sister, Jackie, who went on to marry President John F. Kennedy.
Radziwill was known to her family and friends by her middle name Lee rather than Caroline from an early age.
What did she do for a living?
Radziwill is best known for the famous company she kept as a New York socialite, including Andy Warhol and Truman Capote.
In the 1960s, she had tried working as an actress but had been largely unsuccessful.
She also had a stint as an interior designer for an extremely wealthy and elite clientele in the 1970s.
Radizwill additionally worked in public relations for Giorgio Armani and she had an interview TV show, "Conversations With Lee Radziwill" in 1974.
Who was she married to?
In 1953 she married Michael Canfield, son of the president of the Harper & Brothers publishing house, and the couple moved to England.
They split in 1958 and a year later she married Prince Stanislas Radziwill, an exiled Polish nobleman who invested in London real estate.
Radziwill and the prince had two children, Anthony and Christina, and lived on a street behind Buckingham Palace during what she told the New York Times was the happiest period of her life.
When her second marriage deteriorated, Lee moved back to New York and she and the prince divorced in 1974.
She was married to Herbert Ross, director of the movies "Footloose" and "Steel Magnolias," from 1988 to 2001.
Radziwill also had a relationship with Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis before he married Jacqueline.
When did she die?
Radziwill died at her home in New York on February 15 2019. She was 85 years old.
Her daughter confirmed that she had died from natural causes.
A statement from her family said: "The family appreciates the outpouring of sympathy and support received, and would request that the privacy of Lee's family and friends be observed at this difficult time", CNN reports.
