Where is Hurricane Humberto now? Latest updates as storm heads towards UK

TROPICAL Storm Humberto's winds has whipped into Bermuda on its path to the UK, where it will bring torrential rain and fierce winds for 10 DAYS.

Humberto is now in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and its remnants will hit the UK next week.

Where is Hurricane Humberto now?

Humberto has been downgraded to a tropical storm as it is currently in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

It passed over Bermuda on Thursday, September 19.

Southern parts of the island are under flood threat from September 19, with dangerous waves.

According to the Hurricane Centre, one huge wave was measured at above a whopping 30 feet.

Is Hurricane Humberto heading to the UK?

The Met Office warned that Brits are in the last few days of an Indian summer weather before thunderstorms and a cold front descends next week.

The storm is currently in the Atlantic and the Met Office has said the storm's current path will bring misery to the UK.

Brits are enjoying the last of the summer sunshine this week with temperatures remaining in the 20s, but by next week the UK weather forecast will become more unsettled.

A Met Office spokesman told The Sun Online: "With the hurricane it will become more modified by the time it reaches us.

“We are in for a wet wrath of it when it arrives.

"We will have some rain over the weekend, but the remnants of the hurricane will come on Monday.

“It will bring cloud, rain and wind, but nothing too severe at the moment.

“It may be something that will require a weather warning a later time.

“The West and South West will get the brunt of it. There will be clouds and a lot of rain before it will then spread to most parts of the UK like Northern Ireland and Scotland."

Temperatures will drop closer to average for the time of year with chilly nights making it feel more seasonal, she added.

The remains of Hurricane Humberto, currently churning the Atlantic off the east coast of America, will help drive the transition, forecasters warn.

A spokesman for The Weather Company said: “More unsettled conditions will move in from the west over the weekend with particularly wet and windy weather expected to start next week as the remnants of Hurricane Humberto are expected to pass to the north-west of Britain."
