Trump celebrates new farm bill with bizarre ‘Green Acres’ tweet

Farm livin’ is the life for … Donald Trump?

President Trump on Thursday celebrated the signing of a new farm bill by tweeting out a video from the 2005 Emmys showing him in overalls, a straw hat and holding a pitchfork while singing the theme song to the TV sitcom “Green Acres” with “Will & Grace” actress Megan Mullally.

At the event, host Ellen DeGeneres held a competition during the live broadcast called “Emmy Idol,” based on “American Idol,” in which celebrities competed for a fake “Idol” title.

Trump and Mullally, who both had hit shows on NBC at the time, performed the theme song to rousing laughter — and went on to be crowned champs of “Emmy Idol,” AOL reported.

In 2017, Mullally remembered the moment on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“He really wanted to win because people were calling in to vote,” Mullally said.

“We won it. So the next day, I was in my ‘Will & Grace’ dressing room and the phone rang and it was Donald Trump. And he said, ‘You know what? We really needed to win that thing and we did. And you were a big part of that, so I just wanted to say that we really needed to win it. Not only did we win it, but I hear we killed them. It was a landslide!’”
