Suspect raped woman in Bronx motel, used her credit card to pay for room: cops

A woman who had just spent the night out with pals in Manhattan ended up raped in a Bronx motel by a stranger — who used her swiped credit card to pay for the room, authorities said Tuesday.

Police said they have two persons of interest in custody for questioning.

The 34-year-old Manhattan woman was with friends in Midtown late Sunday, only to wake up hours later in the El Rancho Motel on White Plains Road in Williamsbridge, police said.

When she awoke Monday morning, her rapist was still at the motel, and her phone was missing, officials said. The woman ran to a nearby store, where she called a friend who took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, cops said.

Police were called when the victim got to the hospital, a police source said.

She told cops she doesn’t remember meeting her rapist or how she got to the motel, sources said.

Investigators recovered surveillance footage from inside the lobby of the motel, which shows the suspect rummaging through the woman’s wallet, cops said.

Police said the victim was “in an impaired state” but it wasn’t immediately clear how, including whether she had been drugged.

The woman’s rapist used her credit card to pay for the motel room and also stole her cellphone, cops said.

The persons of interest were taken into custody early Tuesday. Charges were pending, police said.
