Spanish teacher had sex with student on school grounds: affidavit
A former Spanish teacher at a high school in Alabama had sex with a student on campus, according to an arrest affidavit.
Natasha Patronsky, a 24-year-old former teacher at Sidney Lanier Senior High School in Montgomery, allegedly had sex with a male student at the public high school during the afternoon of Nov. 8, according to an affidavit cited by the Montgomery Advertiser.
“On above date and time, the victim stated he and the suspect had sexual intercourse at the listed location,” the affidavit states.
The illicit romp took place sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., or 15 minutes before the end of the school day at 2:45, according to the newspaper.
Patronsky, who is facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted of being a school employee and engaging in a sexual act with a student under the age of 19, resigned from her position Nov. 20, four days after an investigation was launched into the student’s allegations and an incident report was filed.
Patronsky had only worked for Montgomery Public Schools for three months prior to her resignation. She’s now due to return to court Dec. 14 after being released on bond, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.
The affidavit reported the student as an 18-year-old, WSFA reports.
Ann Roy Moore, the district’s superintendent, said she was “shocked” to learn of the allegations against Patronksy.
“We support law enforcement in their work to get to the truth in this matter,” Moore said in a statement last week to WSFA. “Any person found guilty of putting a child’s safety at risk should be punished to the full extent of the law.”
