Shocking moment Texas man finds a SNAKE in his toilet bowl

THIS is the shocking moment a Texan man found a SNAKE poking its head out of his toilet bowl.

The horrifying video, which was first shared on Twitter, has now gone viral and raked in more than 2 million views.

"I always thought this was an irrational fear of mine…apparently not. Friend out in west Texas found this," WWLTV meteorologist Payton Malone captioned the video in his tweet on Sunday.

The 30-second-video showed a snake slithering out of the water at the bottom of a toilet bowl.

Someone appeared to use a golf club to coax the creature out of the toilet before the footage was cut off.

Reacting to the clip, one comment said: "You know how many people surf Twitter while on the toilet right? And saw this while on the toilet? And immediately quivered in fear? I am one of those people."

Another comment offered a possible theory behind such discovery: " I live in Houston and everyone always makes sure the toilet lid is always down when not in use.

"If there’s a break in the sewer system, in your own line or the cities lines, they’ll come in that way.

"People are always wondering how snakes get in their homes, this is how."

A New York State wildlife rehabilitator, Randolph T. Duncan Jr., told The Sun the snake in the video was a young Texas snake rat, a non-venomous species.

"From watching the short clip, the snake looks to be a Texas rat snake. Texas rat snakes are a non-venomous species of reptile commonly found Midwest," Duncan explained.

He continued: "In the video, it looks like a young juvenile Texas rat snake because of the light coloration.

"Adult Texas rat snakes are very dark almost pitch-black. An adult can get about 42 to 72 inches in length.

"The worst thing a Texas rat snake can do if provoked is giving you a nasty bite.

"Texas rat snakes are active hunters and would adventure in peculiar places to look for food. Their main diet is eating rodents like mice and rats."
