UK outlook for Saturday February 16 to Friday March 1
EARLY fog patches and low cloud in the south that will slowly move northwards into Wales and central England. Sunny spells elsewhere, with some showers for Scotland.
Sunday to Tuesday will probably see patchy rain in the west, with some strong winds in the northwest. Less mild than of late, but drier and brighter in the south and east.
Dry and bright in southern and eastern areas on Wednesday, although cloud and patchy rain, with strong winds, may affect northern and western parts.
The drier and brighter conditions may well extend further north and west through Thursday and Friday.
Settled, quiet weather continues into the weekend, especially across the south and east. Any fronts that make it further east will probably tend to weaken.
A small chance that a more active frontal system could make it across to eastern areas, possibly bringing a low risk of temporary snow.
Mild temperatures but a colder spell could develop in the east later.
