  • Resident’s niece said her aunt was shaken up by the notes left on the cars

A so-called ‘parking vigilante’ has been criticised by residents of a street in Hull after leaving aggressive notes on their cars.

People living in the city’s Gillshill Road have been angered by notes calling them ‘inconsiderate planks’ and ‘a***wipes’ over how they leave their cars.

The mystery parking critic, who has refused to reveal their identity, has been accused of bullying some of the street’s older residents.

The notes came to light after the niece of a woman living on the street posted a photo of a note found on her car on Facebook.

The note said: ‘Well done for you wonderful parking a***wipe. Do you always take up two place when you park, you inconsiderate plank.

‘Maybe next time you park you will consider that other people have to park here too.’

The writer left their number but declined to comment when contacted.

Sarah Wherton, who alerted others to the note, said: ‘Some coward with too much time on their hands is leaving these messages on cars.

‘It really shook my aunty up. She was parked outside her own home!! It was also on another car!’

Other locals said the notes could be a matter for the police.

One said: I would have thought the offence was intimidation and threatening language was pretty offensive, but it depends on who the recipient is.’

Last year, a similar ‘war of notes’ broke out in a street in north London, where residents left passive aggressive notes for each other on windscreens.
