Murder probe launched as 17-year-old boy is pulled out of a canal with a stab wound

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was pulled out of a canal in west London with a stab wound.

Police were called at around 5.45pm on Sunday to reports of a male with a stab injury in the canal by Scrubs Lane, Ladbroke Grove, the Metropolitan Police said.

The force added that a 17-year-old boy was pulled from the water.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.10pm.

Road closures were in place locally into Monday afternoon as police continued their search for evidence

Despite the diligent efforts of the emergency services, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

Police divers and forensic investigators were pictured at the scene. 

The crime scene remains in place on Tuesday. 

No arrests have so far been made and enquiries into the case are ongoing.
