Moment Ulez camera security car runs over a driving instructor standing in front of it as campaigners scream and beg them to stop

This is the moment an anti-Ulez campaigner was struck by a security car guarding one of Sadiq Khan’s hated camera vans.

Driving instructor Heather Watts was standing in front of the car on Biggin Hill, Bromley, when it appeared to drive into her, leaving her legs with severe bruising.

She was left on crutches because of the crash and said she thought she was going to go beneath the car.

Footage showed anti-Ulez campaigners screaming and hitting the security car as it appeared to hit Heather’s legs before driving after her as she hobbled away.

One of the protesters begged for the car to stop before he shouted for the police and asked passers-by to call an ambulance.

Meanwhile, the car drove off without stopping to check on Heather’s condition. 

Claire Dyer, who was driving past when she saw the incident unfold, said Heather and her husband were ‘no threat’ and ‘just normal people’.

She told MailOnline the Ulez security guards are ‘roaming our streets on a daily basis’.

Claire added: ‘You have thuggish security – they don’t need to be behaving the way that they are.

‘Everybody is opposed to [Ulez].’

Transport for London said: ‘We are investigating exactly what happened, but it was our understanding that no one was seriously injured.’ 

Susan Hall, the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London, said: ‘This is completely unacceptable. 

‘Sadiq Khan has serious questions to answer about what his ULEZ enforcers have been doing. For TfL to be downplaying the injury is a disgrace.’

Sadiq Khan declined to comment.

The Met said: ‘Police are investigating the circumstances of an allegation of criminal damage and a road traffic collision in Biggin Hill.

‘Officers were initially called at approximately 4.30pm on Sunday, November 12, to reports of criminal damage to a vehicle in Buckhurst Road, Westerham.

‘A further call was received stating a woman had been injured after being in collision with a vehicle as it attempted to leave the scene; she was not seriously hurt.

‘All parties involved were spoken to and an investigation into both incidents remains ongoing.

‘Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD4481/12Nov.’
