Leopard mauls six people in terrifying attack as villagers run for their lives
A leopard mauled six people after straying into a village in India.
Terrifying footage showed the wild cat attacking onlookers as they tried to usher it back to a forest.
The frightened animal can be seen jumping from one man to the other in a bid to escape the clutches of the rescuers.
A forest guard was also attacked in the incident in Jalandhar, but no-one was said to have suffered any serious injuries.
Officials arrived after a few people raised an alarm on seeing the feline hiding inside a house.
After authorities tried to tranquillise the big cat, it started jumping off a fence and attacked people present on the spot.
At least a hundred people were seen running behind the enraged animal.
The forest officials tried twice to take it down using a tranquillizer gun but were unable to control the ferocious animal.
The operation was still ongoing at the time it was reported.
