Laundromat worker choked unconscious during robbery
A laundromat employee was attacked and choked unconscious during an early morning robbery in Queens, cops said.
The 50-year-old woman was working at Family Laundry on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven around 9:30 a.m. Jan. 7 when a stranger approached her, police said Monday night.
He punched the woman across the face, then dragged her to the bathroom, where he placed her in a chokehold until she passed out, cops said.
He then grabbed the victim’s cellphone and ran off, heading south on 86th Street, cops said.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
Police provided video of the suspect, wearing a black hooded jacket and blue jeans. Cops described him as 5 feet 11.
