An eco-loon who glitter-bombed Keir Starmer at the Labour Party conference has joined up with pro-Palestine protesters plotting to wreak chaos in London on Remembrance Saturday – including sit-ins at three railway stations.

Yaz Ashmawi, who threw glitter over Sir Keir during last month’s speech in Liverpool, used the controversial ‘from the river to sea’ phrase during a Zoom call about the Remembrance protests.

He and other activists – from groups including Just Stop Oil – spoke as they planned sit-ins at three major London stations, Charing Cross, Waterloo and Victoria, which will heap misery on poppy sellers and football fans.

Thousands are also expected to be travelling around the capital after the morning service when the stunts are planned. Ashmawi, 28, told a Zoom call of his plans.

They want to cause chaos to tens of thousands of people, many in London to mark November 11 and hundreds of volunteers selling poppies.

The group are calling themselves ‘Ceasefire Now’ and are deploying tactics used by despised Just Stop Oil to try and achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine.

The mob have already faced mountain pressure to cancel this Saturday’s event, the fourth in as many weekends, as it clashes with Remembrance Day.

Surrey resident Ashmawi, who is also a member of Extinction Rebellion, was arrested of suspicion of assault, breach of the peace, and causing public nuisance following the Starmer stunt.

He said on the call: ‘This emergency emerging in Gaza is a shocking display of innocent life.

‘In the climate space we have a commitment to climate justice which requires us to seek justice everywhere. It’s enabling what’s happening today.

‘What’s being inflicted on Palestine is a war crime. At Charing Cross, we were loud. It felt right to shout free Palestine.

‘That’s a phrase which speaks to this land where all people from the river to the sea must be equal and free from this apartheid rule.

‘We were there to show solidarity. It’s important because we have a responsibility to be visible. We’re standing up against violence.’

Another member of Just Stop Oil was also on the call speaking about the sit-ins.

Tory MP Nigel Mills said: ‘The public will not tolerate this pathetic behaviour. Any law-breaking on Saturday needs to be dealt with firmly and swiftly by the police.

‘No ifs, no buts. These people are spoilt, privileged who don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

‘They just want to cause trouble when the vast majority of the public want to remember those that have died and served our country.’

Ashmawi was approached for comment.
