Jersey City shooting: Multiple people dead, including police officer

Multiple people were killed in a wild Jersey City shootout — including a police officer — after a drug bust went bad, according to officials and reports.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that one officer was fatally shot in the head and two others were wounded — including one shot in the shoulder — along with a civilian.

“It’s a tough day for the Jersey City Police Department,” Mayor Steven Fulop said in a brief press conference more than three hours after the shootout started.

Multiple people were found dead inside a convenience store, the mayor said.

A police source told The Post the two shooters were believed to be among the dead in the store.

The mayor’s office would not say how the incident started or how many were dead in the store.

Authorities said the shooting started in Bay View Cemetery before the shooters ran into the store, about a mile away, at Martin Luther King Drive and Bayview Avenue.

The incident started with a drug deal that went wrong and involved plainclothes cops, ABC reported.
