England and Leicester star Jamie Vardy calls in police after losing £30,000 on a deposit he and wife Becky put down for a new £169,000 Lamborghini Urus

England and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has lost £30,000 after using a middle man to purchase a sleek new Lamborghini Urus. 

He has reportedly enlisted the help of officers after the 4L V8 engine car was never delivered. 

Vardy allegedly handed over £40,000 to S14 VIP, a Kent-based firm that acts as a middle man between the stars and car dealerships.

When the 32-year-old and his wife, Becky, 37, chased up on the delivery of their new motor, Lamborghini said it hadn’t received any payment from the firm the pair hired. 

The firm, dissolved last month on Companies House, was owned by business man Mark Pryke who says he has sold the couple 15 cars in the past without any issues. 

He handed back just £10,000 to the Vardys, leaving them £30,000 short, according to a source speaking to The Sun.

The source said: ‘The Vardys are fuming. Jamie might earn a good wage but these sums are big to anyone.’ 

Despite Mr Pryke saying the couple will get their money back, the source told The Sun that they have called in their lawyers and the police. 

Mr Pryke said: ‘I’ve got a cash flow problem for now.

‘I couldn’t provide the car so they’re getting the money back. I’m not running or hiding.’

When approached by Mail Online, Mr Pryke added: ‘I’ve sold the pair of them 15 cars in the past without any problem. They will get their refund in full.’ 

Asked if he is struggling to pay back because his company dissolved, Mr Pryke said: ‘Not at all.’

The Facebook page for his now dissolved company in the past posted about doing business with West Ham captain Mark Noble and teammate James Tomkins along with former QPR defender Luke Young among others.

One post quoted Noble as saying, ‘Thanks again, Mark for a fantastic service’ after the delivery of his new Range Rover Vogue in 2012. 

Jamie Vardy’s agent and Kent Police have been contacted for comment.
