Horror as woman, 77, is found 'murdered' at home – with man, 74, known to victim arrested for 'killing' | The Sun

A PENSIONER has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 77-year-old woman was found dead at home in West London.

She was discovered in Harold Road, Ealing, just before 7pm on Sunday following concerns for her welfare.


The woman had died from a head injury, the Metropolitan Police said.

The force arrested a 74-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of murder before being taken to hospital over concerns for his health.

He was known to the victim.

Floral tributes were left at the scene on Sunday night and the garden path leading to the front door was taped off.

Detective Superintendent Rebecca Reeves said: "Our colleagues from the Specialist Crime Command are progressing their investigation.

"One person has been arrested and we aren't seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.

"I encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers on patrol or contact their neighbourhood policing team.

"Our thoughts are very much with the victim's family."
