A SCHOOLGIRL is fighting for her life in hospital after being struck by a car while out walking.
Cops confirmed that the seven-year-old had been left with "life-threatening" injuries in the horror crash in Doncaster, Yorkshire yesterday evening.
She remains in critical condition after being hit by a blue Fiat Punto at around 5.15pm.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene as is assisting with the investigation, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the smash.
A spokesperson said: "Yesterday, around 5:15pm, officers attended reports of a road traffic collision involving a blue Fiat Punto and a pedestrian on East Avenue.

"The child was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital via ambulance where she remains in a critical condition.
"The driver of the Fiat Punto remained on scene and is assisting officers.
"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam or CCTV footage, witnessed the vehicle prior to the collision, or any information that can assist with their enquiries."
