This is the hilarious moment a father attempts to teach his daughter how to use a self-defence weapon he bought off the Internet.

Barry Stanley, 58, from Leicester, England, purchased an expandable self-defence stick for his daughter Phyllis, 19, earlier in November.

Mr Stanley then demonstrated to Phyllis how to use the weapon in an amusing video, which reached almost 500,000 views online.

Barry proceeds to tell the teenager how the stick can easily hide in his sleeve when retracted: ‘If you’ve got to protect yourself, you can hold it in your hand like that’

‘They don’t even know you’ve got it, do they?’

While dramatically whipping the weapon in the air, Barry continued: ‘You can go, ‘what? Boom’.

‘Mum said you can’t take it out in your handbag on a night out, because you’ll end up hitting somebody with it.’
