Explosion sends Markwest natural gas facility up in flames in Washington County, Penn.
An explosion sent a natural gas facility up in flames about 40 kilometres south of Pittsburgh on Thursday, reports said.
The facility run by MarkWest Energy Partners experienced a blast that had dispatchers sending first responders to the scene in Washington County, Penn. at just after 6 p.m. ET, KDKA-TV reported.
A fire broke out after an above ground tank exploded, injuring four people and requiring transport to a Pittsburgh hospital by helicopter, WTAE reporter Beau Berman tweeted.
