Estranged husband charged with Oregon woman Tiffany Lazon’s murder

The estranged husband of a missing Oregon woman was charged in her slaying — after investigators found “bodily tissue and blood” matching her DNA on a circular saw that he borrowed, according to a new report.

Tiffany Marie Lazon, 37, of Albany, has been listed as a missing person with the local police department since Jan. 9 — and her husband, Craig Lazon, 42, was charged with her murder on Tuesday, KATU 2 reported.

Authorities determined that Craig had borrowed a battery-operated saw from a friend and returned it several days later. “Bodily tissue and blood” matching Tiffany’s DNA appeared on the saw during tests conducted by the Oregon State Crime Lab, according to the report.

Lazon was already in custody on second-degree animal neglect and second-degree animal abandonment charges, following an arrest last week related to his wife’s cat, investigators told FOX 12.

The cat, discovered in a storage unit connected to Craig, was turned over to Tiffany’s daughter, according to the report.

Tiffany hadn’t been in touch with her concerned relatives since Dec. 27, so they asked authorities to conduct a welfare check the evening of Jan. 8.

She wasn’t home — and Craig told investigators the following morning he didn’t know where she was and that she may have moved to Washington.

But family members told FOX 12 the back door of Tiffany’s home was open and all the lights were on, which “just wasn’t like her.”

And she would never have left home without her car, pet cat or phone, the relatives said.

Craig was named a person of interest in the case last week after investigators found no credible sightings of Tiffany, The Albany Democrat-Herald reported.

“Numerous search warrants have been served during the past five days providing further evidence and support that Tiffany Lazon is deceased,” the Albany Police Department said in a news release obtained by the paper.
