Dramatic moment Mafia mobster cheats death when hitman’s gun jams at last second

THIS is the dramatic moment a Mafia mobster cheated his death after a hitman’s gun jammed at the last second.

Salvatore Nurcaro, 32, was approached by a man wearing a motorbike helmet and dark clothing in broad daylight on a busy street in Naples, Italy.

CCTV captures the scene as the assassin arrives on a bike then calmly walks up to Nurcaro as he stands on the street in the crime ridden port city of Naples.

The hitman fires but the gun jams, prompting Nurcaro to run off down the road and around the corner.

Bystanders dived for cover as the gunman carried on firing eventually hitting Nurcaro, as well as two innocent passers-by – including a four-year-old girl named only as Noemi, who last night was in life-threatening state in hospital.

The chilling video shows the moment the gunman leapt over the little girl who was lying in cured on the ground as he chases after his target.

A stunned waiter is then seen picking her up and taking her to safety.

Cops say six bullets were fired in total, with Nurcaro also being hit and taken to hospital in a serious condition, however luckily his injuries are not life threatening.

Another inured bystander was the little girl’s 50-year-old grandmother who suffered a glancing leg wound.

Doctors described the wound suffered by Noemi as similar to that seen in a ''war zone'', as the bullet was a 9mm ''full metal jacket''.

Surgeon Giovanni Gaglione said: “The bullet passed through Noemi's lungs before lodging in her ribs.”

Police said Nurcaro had a long criminal record and had been involved in organised crime with the local Mafia known as the Camorra.

Last month, a 57-year-old mobster was shot dead in the city front of his grandson in another organised crime hit.

The Camorra is a notorious crime syndicate which controls lucrative drugs and prostitution rackets as well as a huge market in counterfeit goods.
