Brazen gang of bank robbers rip cash machine out of wall with a JCB and then escape with it on a truck as sparks fly

Incredible footage shows a gang of bank robbers using a digger to drag a cash machine out of the wall at a branch of Nationwide. 

The incident took place in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire and saw a group of six or seven deploy a sophisticated plan to steal the machine.

They used a JCB digger to drag it out of the side of the bank at around 2am before attaching an industrial belt to lift it onto a trailer before making off.

Although the video has just began circulating, the incident took place in June last year in the early hours of the 25th and no one was arrested, police confirmed. 

Reports from Cambridgeshire stated that ‘people scattered to escape a digger’ on the high street after the ram raid. 

A vehicle was later found in Chapel Road in Ramsey Heights on fire with an ATM attached, reported CambridgeshireLive in June.

It was reported there were six or seven people and two vehicles, including a Land Rover. 

Police deployed a helicopter to help in the search for the assailants who were not caught. 

Although they made off with the cash machine, the group of men dropped it several times and almost broke their trailer by dropping the heavy article onto it.

One person reacting to the video on Facebook said: ‘ [It’s] Like watching The Chuckle Brothers…’

The men can be heard shouting ‘come on boys!’ several times as they struggle to load the stolen cash machine on to the trailer.
