Angry mob riots at Subway 'over free sandwich giveaway' as staff fight them off with fire extinguishers
Dozens of rowdy teenagers can be seen running amok at the fast food restaurant metres from Dagenham Tube station in East London.
The blurry video taken on Snapchat appears to show chaos reigning at the sandwich shop, with one teenager perched on a friend's shoulders amid a sea of rioters.
Amid cheering and jeering, a staff member is seen to point a fire extinguisher at the crowd to stop yet more teens pouring into the shop.
But instead of stopping the brawl, teenagers can be seen using a wet floor cone to smash the front of the shop as the crowd cheers them on.
The video, accompanied by the comment "Only in Dagenham" is believed to have been filmed by one of those involved in the riot shortly before 6pm on Friday afternoon.
Reports on social media suggested the group had congregated because of a free sandwich deal, though these are yet to be verified by Subway.
Online users expressed their disgust at the horrifying incident, with @kpeezyreactions commenting: “These youth man are out of control and horrible."
And @f2kubik1 said: “I want every single one of these motherf****** to get jailed for life because of causing vandalism to a shop!”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that no arrest were made and that no parties were injured following the incident.
Police enquiries are ongoing. The Sun Online has contacted Subway for a comment.
