A year of Trump: Reversing Obama-era environmental policies

The US president prominently abandoned the Paris Climate Agreement and used his executive power to dismantle existing environmental regulations in the US.

    In his first year in power, President Donald Trump has stripped away many Obama-era environmental policies.

    His announcement last June that the US would pull out of the Paris Agreement in 2020 met with global disapproval and left the US isolated.

    It was followed by a series of climate-related disasters in the United States, from devastating hurricanes to wildfires.
