Nine people have been hospitalized after a press box at a high school softball field collapsed in Indiana.
Six Wayne High School students and three adults were injured on Saturday after a press box collapsed in the middle of the game around 1.30pm.
It is unclear what exactly caused the floor of the press box to collapse, but police believe that it had something to do with the ‘faulty securement of the floor joist.’ DailyMail.com has contacted the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department for comment.
The spectators and players were sitting underneath the press box when the floor collapsed, according to WOWK TV.
Two students were life-flighted to the hospital. One of those, named by her mother on Facebook as Addison Perkins. It is unclear what the other student’s condition in.

Addison’s mother Brittany Leigh Perkins said on Facebook that her daughter had ‘been cleared and just got discharged and has to follow up on two days with concussion clinic.’
‘We have A LOT of girls and adults still back there and they all need a lot of prayer,’ she wrote.
A freelance photographer, who was at the game, also shared a photo to Facebook showing the uninjured players on the boys and girls’ teams waiting in the hospital to see if their teammates would be okay.
The fire department showed their support on Facebook, writing: ‘Wayne Fire Dept. would like to extend our prayers to the Wayne Middle School softball team and the members in the community of Wayne involved at the ball field today.’
