EASTENDERS teenage terror Hunter Owen took centre stage in EastEnders as the storyline between his mum Mel Owen and cheating fiancé Ray Kelly came to a dramatic climax.

Who is Hunter Owen?

Hunter Owen is a character in EastEnders played by British actor Charlie Winter.
He arrived in Walford in February 2018 along with his mum, returning character Mel Owen – who is played by Tamzin Outhwaite.
Hunter’s dad is Steve Owen who died in 2002 after the car he was driving crashed and exploded.
Mel fled the Square shortly after, pregnant with Steve’s baby.
Hunter grew up in Portugal along with Louise Mitchell and her mum Lisa Fowler as Mel and Lisa were close friends.
Teenage Hunter took Louise’s virginity when he was 15, making sure her dad Phil Mitchell saw the whole thing on the CCTV at the club.
He took an online test which said he was a psychopath – like his dad Steve – which has made fans intrigued about Hunter’s future.
On January 3, 2019, Hunter became a killer as he shot twisted bigamist Ray Kelly for trying to murder his mother Mel.

Why did Hunter Owen kill Ray Kelly in EastEnders?

Hunter’s mum Mel had discovered her loving fiancé Ray already had two wives and decided to set him up for bigamy in revenge for cheating on her.
She teamed up with his two other wives but her plan backfired when Ray realised Mel was on to him.

He tried to choke her to death on their wedding day and was left shocked when she arrived at the venue insisting the marriage went ahead. After the ceremony, the police arrived and arrested Ray for bigamy.

But Mel underestimated sneaky Ray and he managed to escape after faking a heart attack.

He then kidnapped Hunter and called Mel, luring her to the woods.
After a scuffle with Ray, Mel managed to free Hunter but as they made their escape in Ray’s car, she reversed over him.
When Hunter asked if he was dead and Mel confirmed it, Hunter coldly said: ‘I’m glad.’
Mel then attempted to hide the body, only for Ray to leap up and announce he would finish off what he started earlier.

But as he strangled her a shot rang out and Ray clutched a bullet wound in his chest.

Hunter had discovered the gun Mel had earlier threatened Ray with and shot him to save his mum.

Who plays Hunter Owen?

Charlie Winter makes his acting debut as the EastEnders character.

On receiving his first acting role, Charlie said: "I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be on such an iconic show as EastEnders.

"It still feels really surreal that this has happened.

"It's an exciting time for me and I can't wait to get stuck in and for everyone to meet Hunter."

The character was part of executive producer John Yorke's plans to overhaul the show with the arrival and exit of several key cast members.
