Avengers: Endgame starts THIS WEEK, bringing to a close a full decade of storytelling. It’s an incredible achievement, one with a few missteps and trip-ups along the way. All in all, though, the massive undertaking of tying together a decade of different movies into one massive payoff is really amazing.

To really appreciate all the Marvel films and their importance in the greater Marvel universe, if you have the means and the time, it’s worth amassing a collection to keep on your shelf. You can bring home every Marvel movie on Blu-ray, and in many cases, you can get them on 4K Blu-ray, to maximize your resolution and enjoyment.

Here is every Marvel movie, where to get it on Blu-ray, and if available, where to get Marvel movies on 4K Blu-ray. These are in chronological order of release, not necessarily in the order they should best be watched. .

Iron Man (2008)

This one is a bit of an MCU odd-duck. In 2003, Ang Lee directed a Hulk movie, and then it was stricken from the record when Ed Norton stepped in to play Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk. Then Mark Ruffalo took over the role, and now Ed Norton wanders the Earth with that sad music from the end of the old 1970s Hulk TV show.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

Iron Man 2 showed Marvel movies were now “a thing,” with another solid movie and the first MCU sequel. It doesn’t reach the heights of the first film, but who cares? Iron Man rules. Plus, you can re-live the odd introduction of Black Widow.

Thor (2011)

The first Thor movie brought one of the best parts of the MCU to the big screen: Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. It’s a pretty average Marvel movie, with some problems, but overall it’s enjoyable, and Thor was one of the best parts of Infinity War, so it’s cool to revisit the first movie.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Oh baby, now we’re talking. This is one of the best Marvel movies, period, and Captain America is one of the best heroes. I haven’t watched this one in ages, and I think I need to change that.

Marvel’s The Avengers (2012)

Pretty much as soon as we witnessed the post-credits scene in Iron Man, everyone left the theater wanting to see this movie. And lo and behold, those dreams became a reality. Keep reaching for the stars, superfans.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Iron Man 3 is… divisive. But no one can fault the movie for taking risks. Tony Stark’s home is destroyed. The Mandarin… isn’t what you think. And Iron Man spends most of the movie out of the suit.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Thor: The Dark World is an odd duck. People liked it when it came out. It was fun. It advanced the Infinity Stone lore. But lo and behold, 5 years later, it turns out… it isn’t actually any good, if we’re being honest. But if you’re a completionist, it’s a must.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Captain America, you are the hero America needs, but maybe we don’t deserve you. This is one of the MCU’s absolute best, and is a top-tier must-have.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

I remember hearing about this movie being made and thinking “Wow, you’ve gone too far now, Marvel.” Man I love being wrong when it’s this good. Until Infinity War, this was my favorite Marvel movie. It stands on its own as a killer sci-fi flick.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Guess who’s back? Back again? Avengers are back. Tell a friend. This is a tale of humanity’s struggle to control but not become consumed by the very technology we create. But mostly it’s just awesome superheroes duking it out. And Thor doing Thor stuff.

Ant-Man (2015)

For every big, bombastic Marvel movie, they balance it nicely with something a little smaller. I swear to God I wasn’t trying to make a pun there, because instead I was pointing out the shift in tone from Age of Ultron to Ant-Man. Anyway, this movie is underrated and Paul Rudd is a charismatic, likable lead.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

In between Age of Ultron and Infinity War, The Russo Bros. snuck in another stealth Avengers sequel (minus a green guy and a God). It has Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man riding on an arrow… goodness gracious. The MCU had brought us big team-ups before, but this was the first time the franchise went “full superhero.”

Doctor Strange (2016)

Doctor Strange suffers a little from superhero origin story fatigue, but its mind-bending visuals elevate it, along with the pitch-perfect casting for Strange himself and the huge new portion of the MCU it opens up.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

This doesn’t quite live up to its predecessor, but it did give us Baby Groot, the most adorable of all the MCU characters. And somehow makes Kraglin a compelling, likable character with a full arc all his own? It’s still really good, just not great like the original.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

I absolutely loved this movie, way more than I expected. I figured I was Spider-fatigued after all those other Spider-Man movies from different studios. This was a breath of fresh air – taking Spider-Man back to his 15-year-old origins while not being an origin story was a stroke of genius.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor Ragnarok has so much going for it. Led Zeppelin. Jeff Goldblum. Directed by Taika Waititi. And of course… Korg. It’s a ton of fun that completely reinvents the character and is, against all odds, one of the MCU’s absolute best.

Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther rules. It has one of the best villains in all of the Marvel universe. I don’t know if Killmonger or Thanos is my favorite villain. But who cares? Snatch this one up.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Avengers: Infinity War is the absolute culmination of the greatest bits and pieces of every Marvel movie before, and even characters from so-so Marvel movies are incredible in this one. Seriously, this is not only the best Marvel movie, it’s maybe the best superhero movie ever made.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

After the enormous spectacle of Avengers: Infinity War, releasing Ant-Man and the Wasp was a genius move on Marvel’s part. No movie of 2018 could compete with the hugeness of Infinity War, so Marvel went small, literally.

Captain Marvel isn’t on Blu-ray yet. Not trying to fake you out or anything. But you can preorder it from Best Buy, so you can lock in your copy and add it to your library the day it comes out. The bad news is there isn’t a fixed release date yet, but I bet it’s sooner than we think.
