The Curse season 2 takes place 18 months after the gang’s heist
The Curse: Big Mick receives a letter from Dotty
The Curse is returning to Channel 4 from April 27 and it continues to follow the group of small-time crooks in 1980s London.
Having previously found themselves embroiled in one of the biggest gold heists in history, 18 months have now passed since the gang’s gold heist.
While Mick (played by Tom Davis) languishes in prison, Albert Fantoni (Allan Mustafa), Tash Fantoni (Emer Kenny) and Sidney (Steve Stamp) have escaped to start a new life on the Costa del Crime.
Later in the series, Tash and Albert receive some unexpected visitors, whose arrival threatens to upend everything they’ve built in Spain.
Express.co.uk has all you need to know about how many episodes are in season two.
Channel 4’s Commissioning Executive, Joe Hullait, said of the new series: “We’re so excited that this comedy supergroup are returning for another instalment of The Curse and cannot wait to see what exile in Spain looks like for the gang. It’s going to be comedy gold.”
The official synopsis for the second season explains how the Costa Del Crime is a safe haven for UK criminals due to the lack of an extradition treaty between British and Spanish governments, meaning they were untouchable.
It continues: “Albert and Tash have invested the money from the gold in a dream restaurant and hotel business, whilst Sidney under the new alias ‘Andrew’ runs a bar on the beach.
“Meanwhile, Big Mick is in prison awaiting trial, very much enjoying the fame that follows now being officially associated with the biggest gold heist in history and Phil ‘The Captain’ Pocket (Hugo Chegwin) is dead.”

The synopsis continues: “In the shadows, frustrated Detectives Saunders and Thread, who are powerless to make arrests, have no choice but to go deep undercover in Spain to gather evidence on the whereabouts of the golden haul.
“What becomes quickly evident is that Spain isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The stakes are higher, the gangsters are scarier, and the vultures are beginning to circle. Behind the cocktails around the pool and the paradise façade the calamitous gang have very much got out of the frying pan and into the fire.
“The Curse takes hold in the Spanish heat and it’s a guessing game who will get out alive.”
