STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas has defended the show’s line-up after confirming she's returning for the new series.
The veteran performer has urged viewers to give this year's stars a chance following criticism from fans.
Head judge Shirley, 57, has finally confirmed she's reprising her role for the new series which starts this autumn.
During her appearance on Loose Women today, Shirley declared: "I've been confirmed back on Strictly so I'm excited about that!"
She went on to hit back at criticism of the new line-up after fans slammed this year's crop of celebrities.
Shirley insisted the BBC is never wrong and viewers need to trust producers as they know what they are doing.
She said: "I don't think the BBC ever get it wrong.
"They gave me a chance last year – I got a lot of abuse online, but this year's completely different.
"I feel embraced, I feel loved, I think that's what going to happen.
"This is a diverse panel of people all with a different story.
"Give these stars a chance!
"People will watch it and judge for themselves and this will be a good panel."

This year's Strictly line-up includes a number of stars who have previously danced professionally including Danny John Jules, Fay Tozer and Ashley Roberts.
There are also some less familiar faces with names including local radio DJ Vick Hope and telly medic Dr Ranj Singh heading to the dance floor.
Other stars signed include social media regular Joe Sugg and TV personality Katie Piper.
