Riverdale fans baffled after Archie comes back to life after bear attack and manages to sit high school exams just days later

Last week, devastated viewers were left asking, "is Archie really dead?" as the character was covered in blood with severe injuries in the aftermath of the animal encounter in the Canadian wilderness.

Ending the episode, titled No Exit, with the cliffhanger, fans understandably flocked to social media to express their dismay about the possibility of the heartthrob, played by KJ Apa, 21, being killed off.

However in a massive twist, Archie arrived back to Riverdale on this week's instalment alongside his dog Vegas and appeared injury free, despite suffering major trauma in the woods.

Opening episode ten, titled The Stanger, viewers watched as the red head hunk walked through his front door and casually told his dad Fred about his near-death experience.

Sitting down for dinner, Archie said: "I don't remember the rangers finding me but I woke up in the hospital knowing that I couldn't keep running.

"It was time to come home back to a normal life, if that's even possible."

Determined to return to a regular teenage life following months on the run, Archie returned to Riverdale High in the hope of normalcy.

Following his arrival to school, principle Mr Weatherbee recommended that Archie repeat his junior year and sit his SATs in a number of days, which he did.

The juxtaposition between the previous episode and Archie's well-being now left fans of the series utterly bewildered.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Archie survives prison and a bear attack and he’s worried about the SAT’S?! Lmao bye."

"At the end of last week’s episode Archie was attacked by a bear, he is in a cabin in the woods miles from help," another began.

"He was bleeding to death, he had serve injuries. He was looking pretty dead. How come at the beginning of today’s episode he is completely fine?"

"Wait so did a bear "kill" Archie or not? He's just walking around like nothing happened. Did I miss something or am I just bad at listening?" another said.

A third wrote: "The episode before this Archie is mauled by a bear and suffers a c-list Lynchian fever dream, tonight Archie is stressed about the SAT. Never change Riverdale."

"So Archie Andrews got attacked by a bear and had time to go dye his hair only to come back to #Riverdale where Hiram lives," a fan mused.

A viewer shared: "archie survived the bear attack, but he didn’t survive the sat’s."
