Offred Wants America to 'Wake Up' in Ominous New Super Bowl Trailer for Handmaid's Tale Season 3
It’s morning again in Gilead.
Nearly seven months after the final episode of season two of The Handmaid’s Tale left viewers scratching their heads, fans of the Hulu series got a new look at what’s to come during the 2019 Super Bowl on Sunday.
The season 3 teaser trailer revealed an ominous look at Offred’s (Elisabeth Moss) life after she decides to stay behind in Gilead to look for her daughter, Hannah.
Rather than a song, the clip is instead narrated by the 1984 Ronald Reagan ad campaign, “Morning in America.”

“It’s morning again in America,” the narrator says over footage of the upcoming season. “Today, more women will go to work than ever before in our country’s history. This year, dozens of children will be born to happy and health families. It’s morning again.”
The voice distorts, becoming demon-like and repeating, “It’s morning again.”
Then, the clip cuts to Offred, who issues a call to action to the residents of Gilead: “Wake up America, morning’s over.”
